The NaChiLit research group was founded at Bergen University College (BUC) in 2013 as a response to the current environmental challenges that require a basic reformation of our relation to nature, as proclaimed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC 2013). NaChiLit is now the leading environment for research on children’s literature nationally, with BUC offering the only MA programme in Children’s Literature in Norway. NaChiLit is also a substantial research group on children’s literature by world standards, and currently comprises a number of researchers, as well as PhD and MA students in Children’s Literature. Since 2014, the NaChiLit research group has cooperated with the research group Nature as an arena for cultural formation founded at BUC in 2012 to explore Teacher Professionalism and to generate new knowledge about the natural environment as an educational arena.
The project is led by Professor Nina Goga.
